SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT & LOOKING FOR A NEW, FULL-TIME GIG WITH A GOOD EMPLOYER

Image
To Hiring Managers, Recruiters, and Talent Scouts out there, I'd like to take a brief moment to update you and set the record straight on my last job which these days because of the proliferation of terrorizing monolinguals in Malaysia, members of organized crime, juvenile delinquents, and other desperados out there you might not have been correctly or factually informed about my performance and achievements there. So, let me start by explaining these facts to you: 1. I was actively teaching English for a Thai student named Chahit Kakakhen when he joined Direct English International Language Center (DEILC), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia as a student from March to April 2024. The student successfully completed his Level 1 - Adult Intensive English Language course and was satisfied with the outcome after acknowledging himself that he did manage to improve some of his English writing, speaking, pronunciation, grammar, spelling, presentation, and listening skills. The student even said that h...

THINKING ALOUD ON THE TOPIC OF MAKING MALAYSIA THE PREFERRED DESTINATION FOR TOURISM & FOREIGN DIRECT INVESTMENT

Image
When it comes to making Malaysia the preferred destination for tourism and foreign direct investments, apart from the initiatives already implemented by the current government as well as past administrations briefly summarized in this report: https://www.countryview.com.my/investment-in-malaysia.html#:~:text=The%20Malaysian%20government%20is%20committed,tape%2C%20and%20liberalized%20investment%20rules What could also be done is for the government to develop win-win type of policies and incentives based on the aspirations, goals, commonalities, as well as long term ambitions of both the recipients and the host country. So for example, if there is a desire for expats to not only visit Malaysia but to work here and "start a new life" in Malaysia, I believe that it would be wise for our government to find ways to accommodate their interest whilst at the same time create jobs for local Malaysians by having them pair up with an English speaking, well educated, and seasoned local pr...

SHARING SOME THOUGHTS ON HOW TO MAKE KUALA LUMPUR MORE ATTRACTIVE & LIVEABLE FOR TOURISTS, EXPATS, AS WELL AS LOCAL MALAYSIANS

Image
Photo credit: Getty images 1) After having recently completed a teaching job for a Summer Camp together with a group of highly enthusiastic, positive, able, and friendly expats it should be noted that there are foreigners who are keen on working, exploring, and even staying in Malaysia if they could find permanent work here and had their privacy safeguarded as well as security assured. Hence, our government should really look into these matters in order to make expats feel more comfortable living here. 2) Based on where I live, I know for a fact that blue-collar workers working at supermarkets, sundry shops, and mamak restaurants or even as security guards and dispatch riders nowadays are yearning for a better life. Unfortunately however, due to their lack of qualifications and skills they are unable to improve their quality of life so therefore they often resort to criminal activities such as disturbing others or prying into and meddling with other people's lives. As such, I th...

Identifying and denouncing religious cults in Malaysia that disguise themselves as pious or benevolent entities but really are just out for money, power, influence, and control

Image
Malaysia : Today, I wish to address and write about a topic that needs to be understood and denounced for the right reasons so that members of the public are not conned, coerced, misled, duped, or forced into Islamic religious cults in Malaysia. Over the years of living in Malaysia I have personally come across one cult that has claimed that its supreme leader is a descendant of Prophet Muhammad. If this is true, surely the entire Muslim world would be looking for this man not just to verify his claim but also to follow in his footsteps since Prophet Muhammad in virtually all Islamic historical accounts, books, and scriptures has always been described as a very noble, honest, trustworthy, principled, benevolent, and peaceful man. Yet here you have it in Malaysia, there is a social and sports club known as "Kelab Nuri" which on the surface presents itself as a harmless non-governmental organization. However, if you go deeper and get to know the members, the history of the club...

WHY CIVIL SERVANTS NEED TO DO MORE AS WELL AS A BETTER JOB TO MAKE MALAYSIA PROSPER

Image
First of all, let's put it on record that anybody working in the civil service these days for our government has it good, easy, comfortable, and secure. With basic salaries for fresh graduates estimated at around RM2K if not higher for Degree holders, civil servants also get to enjoy a bunch of perks that those who work or have worked in the private sector do not get to even taste. These perks include a housing allowance, full medical coverage (often for their entire family), meal allowances during training and sometimes free food depending on the government agency or ministry, cheap loans for housing and to purchase a car, bonuses for special occasions such as Hari Raya and more. Yet with all these freebies, some civil servants, especially those in law enforcement have the audacity to take kick backs, run illegal businesses on the side, extort money from members of the public, hold two or three more job titles for easy money, or involve themselves in blatant acts of corruption. Wh...

PUTTING THINGS IN PERSPECTIVE AND HOW TOO OFTEN MALAYSIANS GET SHORTCHANGED, STIFLED, AND SUPPRESSED

Image
For those in Malaysia who survived the hideous Najib Razak era of administration, we cannot and must not forget the blatant, brutal, and plain rotten acts of violence, terrorism, and crime that led to the murders of Altantuya Shaaribu, Datuk Seri Jamaluddin Jarjis, Hussain Najadi, Kevin Morais, and many others. We also cannot and should not forget the tragedies of MH370 disappearing from thin air and MH17 being shotdown over Europe all during the time and reign of "Najb the Terrible" or "Najib the Buffoon" (whichever you like). Then when Tun Dr Mahathir and the newly formed Pakatan Harapan coalition finally managed to wrestle down this incarnate of Satan, it was supposed to signal the beginning of what was to become a "better Malaysia". Reformations soon took place once they came into power by way of judicial reforms, an all out war on graft with the many arrests and prosecutions made by the MACC, and so on. Hence, for a while, you could say that things we...
